A Brief History

Anstey Hall was built in the late 17th Century by Anthony Thompson. In the second half of the 19th Century the Hall was considerably enlarged with the construction of the east wing. In 1909 the Hall was enlarged still further and extensively remodelled internally. After the war, Anstey Hall was purchased by the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF) and used as offices. In 1997 Anstey Hall was purchased by the current owner, John de Bruyne. The Hall has since undergone extensive renovation to return the property to it’s former charm and glory.

Anstey Hall is situated within the delightful village of Trumpington, two miles to the south of Cambridge City. This part of Cambridge has remained largely undeveloped and has retained much of its rural beauty, yet affords easy access from the main trunk roads surrounding the City.
